Sculpture

Broken Made Whole - 2022

Comprised of quilts representing 335 State and Federally recognized Indian reservations, this sculpture talks about what it means to take those pieces of land and suture them together into a a home. The shape of the lodge and its cover invoke the shape of a person, protecting the light within using these pieces of land. Bullets as closures represent the nuanced conversation about the role of guns in Indian history as both a method of outside control and cultural significance.
